Mr. Wang Xiaojing was born in Beijing.Throughout his unsmooth life
experience, music is the thing that fascinates Mr. Wang Xiaojing all
the time.Thanks to good cooperation with Cui Jian and Wang Di, the
famous musicians in the end of 1980s, he gradually secured himself
a position in Chinese pop music circles. He has introduced many a
famous singer and band, and has made a lot of popular records. He
is now an outstanding representative of Chinese music circles. He
was once chosen by the Japanese TV station NHK as the Asian Celebrity
and his name was written into the book of Asian Celebrities. And the
American TV station also chose him as the Chinese worthy offspring.
Mr. Wang Xiaojing was first known for his cooperation with Cui
Jian, who was called “The First Person of Chinese Rock”.In March
1989, with the help of Mr. Wang Xiaojing, Cui Jian succeeded in
giving his first special performance, which caused quite a stir.Later,
in the year 1990, Mr. Wang Xiaojing planned with Cui Jian and made
a national circuit of performances to collect money for the Asian
Games in Beijing in 1990. Thus, Mr. Wang Xiaojing is considered
by the media as the first music broker in China.
In 1992, the rock special “Rock Beijing”, which was both financed
and made by Mr. Wang Xiaojing, was presented to the whole world
by Hong Kong BMG Audiovisual Publishing House, which was doubtlessy
a recognition of Mr. Wang’s ability.
In 1993, his original insight helped him discover the singer Chen
Lin, for whom specially Mr. Wang Xiaojing had the classic record
“Your Tenderness I’ll Never Understand” made. This special along
with “Rock Beijing” was chosen as “The Best National Special of
1993” by the contemporary authoritative musical magazine Audiovisual
World.
In 1994, he introduced the band “Compass”, in which the woman
singer Luo Qi assumed the keynote, and made its first special----Choose
to Be Strong, whose distribution volume amounted to as large as
400,000.
But Mr. Wang Xiaojing’s perceptive insight is not confined to
music circles alone. No sooner when the well-known national TV Drama
“Satisfy a Craving” ended than he discovered the music gift of Jiang
Shan who played the heroine, and lost no time in making her first
special “Only Love Me”. Its masterpiece, namely “The Rivers and
Lakes in Dreams”, became a household name in the country within
three short months.
In 2001, 12 Girls Band was presented to the market. Its great
success both at home and abroad marks another peak of the honor
that Mr. Wang Xiaojing has received in Chinese music circles.
All along Mr. Wang Xiaojing’s goal is as follows: Have a foothold
in China while having the whole world in view; make the best use
of the resources at home and abroad to promote and develop Chinese
folk music and pop music. He is now still working hard for this
goal, which is an honor to both himself and his country.
